I am working a new project called the Wyrm. It is a mobile war platform serving as the home for the waring faction. It will be Nordic in design with the miniatures. I have created my own troop car from the STLs and am working on a mobile version of the crane. Everything is based on the Slamtrak with the hover off-road option. I definitely have a lot of opinions on the cars and think this is an excellent option for an expansion. I hope the creator will reach out to hear my suggestions. We need longer cars with modification possibility.
So here is the engine and first two cars. I am starting the next long car which will be the combination of a flat car and a regular troop car. I will probably use the troop car more for a "passenger" car and my modified SlamTrak troop assault car for deploying miniatures. I mentioned I would like to see cars a focus of a future release from Cassidy. My concept is long cars. You have a bridge piece in the middle where you can place a front and back option section to create one long car. Sections I would like to see are flat cargo, freight, tank, ordinance, and fighting platform. Tank is like for fuel or chemicals. freight is basically a slide door box car. Ordinance would be like artillery, missile battery, or siege mortar options. The fighting car would have static weapon options for troops on the car defending the train. The SlamTrak is amazing because it has interior detail and you can open it up for troop movement which makes it a great terrain piece with various scenarios. I am an older gamer and have moved on to just hobby enthusiast. I build miniatures for fun. When I am done I want a 15 foot train that can sprawl between multiple game tables for massive battles.
Finally, I added a grav tank I printed from a different designer. It is 28mm scale and consistent with a lot of table top miniatures on the market for size. I just wanted to show how imposing the war train is on a table!
This looks like an awesome project! The Wyrm as a mobile war platform is a really cool idea! I love what your doing with the crane and great job expanding the SlamTrak mid-section, that can be a hard thing, it looks really well done. We’ve been getting a lot of feedback from the survey about more cars in the future, so something like this is definitely possible! Thanks for sharing your work! Keep us posted, I'm really looking forward to seeing where you go with this! -Cassidy
